I stayed in the Superior Double Room, and it was super comfy. Lots of space and tastefully decorated, which was a nice touch. The bed was large, and I slept really well. Clean bathroom with high-quality toiletries too. Totally loved the vibe of the place!

Consider requesting a room away from the extractor fan for a quieter night’s sleep.

Family with children – a real gem

The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully decorated, so lovely that it felt like we were in a different world. Plus, the customer service was top notch. they seriously went above and beyond to sort out an early check-in for us.

It wasn’t exactly cheap, but honestly, given the experience, I'd say it was worth every penny.

we had a fabulous family room with two separate areas, which was a lovely surprise. the rooms were spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable. the rose is only a short walk from the ridgeway national trail, making it a perfect stop. the food at the pub downstairs was excellent, and the locals made it feel welcoming.

I loved how welcoming the staff was throughout my stay, making me feel right at home. The food was fantastic, particularly the breakfast which featured local products that tasted amazing. The location is great for hikers, with direct access to the stunning Ridgeway walks. I would have liked a bit more variety in the starter menu, but overall, it was a delightful experience.

We stayed for a night after hiking, and it was awesome! The room was spacious and spotless. The veggie dinner we had was sooo tasty! The vibe was chill, made even better by watching the World Cup with friendly folks. Just a heads up, the pub closes in the afternoon, so check-in could be tricky if you arrive early.

The outdoor seating area provides a pleasant spot for enjoying a pint, especially with local craft beer options. The small but nicely decorated lounge serves as a cozy place to unwind after a day out, reflecting a genuine pub atmosphere.

The superior double room I stayed in felt a bit cramped, and the bed itself lacked sufficient space, which may not suit taller travelers. The shower amenities definitely need a refresh. the water pressure barely grazed the acceptable level, making bathing a chore. not having a towel hook or shelf in the shower space turned a simple task into a frustrating scramble, and the absence of a bin in the bathroom was inconvenient. Finally, the noise from downstairs music was noticeable until it stopped at 10 PM, which might disrupt anyone trying to catch some Z's early.

I loved the comfy bed in my room, which was a wonderful retreat after long walks. the food fell a bit flat—only average evening meals 😕. a decent experience.
